Blancpain Endurance Series 1000km Nurburgring 22 september 2013

Under a grey Sky a Day of great Motorsport developped at the Nurburgring where the Blancpain series only used the Formula One Track.

The no. 84 Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 of Schneider/Goetz/Buhk was in a league of his own. The Comptition complained about unfair Balance of Power rules. This BoP gave the Mercedes a very high end speed at the end of the straight.

A safety car was on the track for a few laps to clear the debris after a Ferrari and a Nissan crashed. But that didn't harm the lead of the no. 84 Mercedes.

The Ferrari no. 44 was one of the teams in the race for the drivers championship but was driving way to aggresive that did them more harm (spinnings and penalty) than good.
The BMW of the Marc VDS Racing Team where just to slow. altough at the end, the no. 3 came close, when they took the gamble not to change breakpads.

Yesterday May 25th 2013 I visited Spa-Classic 2013 with my colleague Mike.

The Atmosphere in the Paddock is really great. Everybody meet old Friends, admiring their cars. And most important: getting the Cars ready for the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

N24H 2013 The Race

Race started at 17.00 under the forecast of heavy rain. And so it did from around 22.00hrs. The Race was stopped at about 23.00 and restarted next Morning 8.00. By then I was heading Home.

 

 

N24H 2013 The Grid Walk

Raceday 19th of May. Of course the Public Grid Walk is where the N24H is famous for. Race start at 17.00 but Grid opens at 15.00.
